If traveling by car, start your journey from Whangarei. Head southwest on State Highway 1 (SH1) for approximately 33 km. At the intersection with State Highway 14, turn left onto SH14 and continue for about 14 km. Then, merge onto State Highway 12 (SH12) towards Dargaville. After approximately 36 km, take the left turn onto Waiotemarama Gorge Road. Follow this road for about 10 km until you reach Waiotemarama Falls at 645 Waiotemarama Gorge Road, Waimamaku 0473. There is no entry fee to access the falls.

For those using public transport, take a bus from Whangarei to Waimamaku. Check the local bus schedules as services may vary. Once you arrive at Waimamaku, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to reach Waiotemarama Falls, as it is approximately 6 km from the Waimamaku bus stop.
