If you're starting from central Tauranga, head to the Tauranga Bus Station located at 1 Elizabeth Street. You can take the Bayhopper Bus Route 1 heading towards Mount Maunganui. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Mount Maunganui - Adams Ave' stop. From there, walk down Adams Avenue towards the beach. The lookout trail entrance is located at the base of the mountain on the left side of Adams Avenue.

If you're already in the Mount Maunganui area, you can easily walk to the lookout trail. Head towards Adams Avenue. The entrance to the base trail is at 1 Adams Avenue, which is well-marked. Follow the signs leading to the Mount Maunganui summit. The base trail will take you around the mountain, providing stunning views along the way.
