From Hamilton, drive south on State Highway 1 (SH1) toward Te Aroha. Approximately 40 minutes into your journey, take the exit toward Te Aroha/Matamata. Continue on SH24 until you reach Te Aroha. Once in Te Aroha, follow signs for the Te Aroha Domain. Turn onto Rewi Street, then take a right onto the road leading to the Te Aroha Mountain Track. Park your car at the designated parking area near the track entrance.

Public Transportation
Take a bus from Hamilton to Te Aroha. Bus services are available through InterCity or local bus companies. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Te Aroha, you can either walk or arrange a taxi to take you to the Te Aroha Mountain Track. The walk from the bus stop to the track entrance is about 20 minutes.

After parking your car or arriving in Te Aroha via public transport, head to the Te Aroha Mountain Track entrance. The track begins at the parking area. The walk to Whakapipi Lookout takes about 1 to 1.5 hours each way. The trail is well-marked, and you will experience stunning views along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water.
