If you are starting from the centre of Wanaka, head south along Ardmore Street towards Lake Wanaka. Continue walking until you reach the junction with Dungarvon Street. Turn left onto Dungarvon Street and walk until you reach the lake shore. Roys Bay will be directly ahead as you approach the water, approximately a 15-minute walk.

For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Wanaka. Start at the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre and head south along Ardmore Street. As you reach the lake, follow the designated bike path around the shoreline. This scenic route will take you directly to Roys Bay in about 10 minutes.

While Wanaka does not have extensive public transport, you can take a local shuttle service to get to the lakefront. Check with local operators for times and routes. Once you reach the lakefront, walk towards the south end of the lake, and you will arrive at Roys Bay in a few minutes.
