Walking
From Wellington's city center, head towards Lambton Quay. Walk along Lambton Quay towards the south until you reach the intersection with The Terrace. Cross The Terrace and continue straight onto Bowen Street. Follow Bowen Street until it intersects with Upland Road. Turn left onto Upland Road and continue walking. The Cable Car Museum will be on your right at 1A Upland Road. It is about a 20-minute walk from the city center.

Catch the number 20 bus from any bus stop along Lambton Quay towards Kelburn. The bus will take you directly to the Kelburn terminus. Once you arrive at the Kelburn terminus, exit the bus and walk down Upland Road for about 5 minutes. The Cable Car Museum will be on your right at 1A Upland Road.

You can take the iconic Wellington Cable Car from the city center at the Cable Car Station located on Lambton Quay. Board the cable car and enjoy the scenic ride to the Kelburn terminus.
