Bus
From Wellington Central, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the number 2 bus (the one heading towards Eastbourne). Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest times. Stay on the bus until you reach the 'Karaka Bays' stop. Once you get off, walk towards the beach which is just a short walk down the hill.

If you are starting from the Wellington Waterfront, walk towards the Oriental Bay. Continue along the waterfront promenade until you reach the end of the bay. From there, head up to the Mount Victoria Lookout. After enjoying the view, follow the path that leads down towards the Hataitai area. From Hataitai, you can follow the signs to Karaka Bay which will lead you directly to Scorching Bay Beach.
