Start at Wellington's city center. Head to the nearest bus stop, such as the one located at the Wellington Railway Station. Take the bus number 1 or 2 towards Seatoun. The bus journey will take approximately 25-30 minutes. Get off at the Stop 'Maupuia'. From the bus stop, walk along the Unnamed Road towards the coastline. You'll see the entrance to the Maupuia Walkway shortly.

If you prefer walking from the city center, you can start at the Wellington waterfront area. Head southeast along the waterfront until you reach Oriental Bay. Continue walking along the coast via the scenic route past the coastline towards the Miramar Peninsula. The walk will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, covering approximately 6 km. Follow the signs leading to Maupuia Walkway once you reach the peninsula.
