Assuming you are in Te Aro, start at the intersection of Victoria Street and Abel Smith Street. Head northeast on Abel Smith Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the junction with Cambridge Terrace. Turn left onto Cambridge Terrace and continue walking for about 10 minutes. You will pass by the Wellington Central Library and the Wellington Police Station on your right. Keep walking until you see the Basin Reserve cricket ground on your left. The William Wakefield Memorial is located at the Basin Reserve, specifically at 2 Dufferin Street, Mount Cook. You will see the memorial in the park area.
