Getting There

  • Car

    From any location in Great Smoky Mountains, head towards the Cades Cove Loop Road. If you are starting from the Sugarlands Visitor Center, drive south on Newfound Gap Road for about 8 miles until you reach the intersection with Cades Cove Loop Road. Turn left onto Cades Cove Loop Road and continue for approximately 12 miles until you reach the Townsend entrance. From Townsend, take Old State Hwy 73 Scenic. Meigs Falls will be on your right, just before you enter the park area. Parking is available along the roadside, but be cautious of traffic.

    While public transportation options are limited in the Great Smoky Mountains, you can take a shuttle service from nearby towns such as Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Use the shuttle to reach the Cades Cove area. Once you arrive at Cades Cove, you may need to walk or use a bike rental service to reach Meigs Falls.
