Car
If you are driving from Boone, NC, start by getting onto US-421 S from Boone. Follow US-421 S for approximately 15 miles until you reach the intersection with I-77 S. Merge onto I-77 S and continue for about 40 miles. Take exit 10 for I-277 N toward Charlotte. Merge onto I-277 N, and then take exit 3A toward US-74 E. Stay on US-74 E for a short distance, then take exit 2C for Kings Drive. Continue on Kings Drive for about 1 mile. The Trail of History will be located at 100 N Kings Dr, Charlotte, NC 28204. There is potential parking available nearby.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a regional bus service from Boone to Charlotte. Check with AppalCART or Greyhound for schedules and fares. Once you arrive in Charlotte, you can take the LYNX Blue Line light rail from the Charlotte Transportation Center. Head southbound towards I-485, and disembark at the Bland Street Station. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to the Trail of History. Walk northeast on S Tryon St, then turn right onto E 3rd St, and finally turn left onto Kings Dr.
