From Boone, NC, take US-421 S for about 20 miles until you reach Wilkesboro. Merge onto US-421 S/US-221 S and continue for approximately 30 miles. Take the exit for US-64 E towards Asheville. Continue on US-64 E for around 20 miles, then merge onto I-40 E. Follow I-40 E for about 50 miles to exit 311 for US-158 E towards Nags Head. Once on US-158 E, continue for about 30 miles, then take the exit for NC-12 N towards the Outer Banks. Stay on NC-12 N, which will take you to Corolla. Once in Corolla, turn onto Corolla Village Rd and follow the signs to the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, located at 1101 Corolla Village Rd, Corolla, NC 27927.

Traveling by public transportation from Boone, NC, you can take a Greyhound bus to Norfolk, VA. From Norfolk, take the Coastal Carolina bus service to Corolla. Keep in mind that this route may require transfers and can take several hours. Once you arrive in Corolla, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Currituck Beach Lighthouse at 1101 Corolla Village Rd. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance for availability.

For the adventurous, cycling from the towns around High Country is a possibility, but be prepared for a long ride. Start from Boone and take NC-105 S, then connect to US-421 S and follow the same route as mentioned for cars.
