From any location in Uwharrie National Forest, use a GPS navigation system or a map application on your smartphone to find Elk Knob State Park, located at 5564 Meat Camp Rd, Todd, NC 28684. The park is approximately 30 miles away from the center of Uwharrie National Forest. Follow NC-49 N towards Asheboro, then merge onto US-64 W. Continue on US-64 W for about 17 miles. Take the exit toward NC-194 N and merge onto NC-194 N. After about 7 miles, turn left onto Meat Camp Rd. Continue on Meat Camp Rd until you reach the park entrance. Parking fees may apply, so be sure to bring cash or a credit card.
