Start at the Appalachian State University campus in Boone. From the main entrance, head north on Blowing Rock Road (US-321). After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto Poplar Grove Connector. Continue on this road for approximately 0.2 miles until you reach a fork. Stay right to continue onto Rocky Knob Road. Follow Rocky Knob Road for about 0.4 miles. You will see the entrance to Rocky Knob Mountain Bike Park on your left, just past the intersection with Mountain Bike Way.
Biking

Begin your journey at the center of Boone. Head southwest on King Street towards the intersection with Blowing Rock Road (US-321). Turn left onto Blowing Rock Road and ride for about 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Poplar Grove Connector and continue for about 0.2 miles. At the fork, stay right and continue onto Rocky Knob Road. Follow this road for about 0.4 miles until you reach Rocky Knob Mountain Bike Park entrance on your left.
