From the Lake Erie Islands, take a ferry to the mainland (the ferry ride varies by island, typically departing from Put-in-Bay or Kelleys Island). Upon arrival at the mainland, follow signs for I-90 W towards Cleveland. Take exit 205A toward OH-2 W toward the Shoreway. Continue on OH-2 W which will take you towards Whiskey Island. Once you reach Whiskey Island Dr, turn left. The Cleveland Harbor West Pierhead Lighthouse will be located at 2800 Whiskey Island Dr, Cleveland, OH 44102. There is no parking fee at the lighthouse, but make sure to check for any local parking regulations.

For those relying on public transportation, first take a ferry from your current island (either Put-in-Bay or Kelleys Island) to the mainland in Sandusky, Ohio. Once you arrive, you can catch a Greyhound bus or a local transit bus to Cleveland. Upon reaching Cleveland, you will want to transfer to the RTA (Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority). Take the RTA red line train to the Tower City station, then switch to the #22 bus towards the West Side Market. Get off at the Whiskey Island stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Cleveland Harbor West Pierhead Lighthouse located at 2800 Whiskey Island Dr. Please check the RTA website for exact schedules and possible fares.
