The drive will take about 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Nizwa, take the exit towards Route 21 towards Al Hamra. Continue on Route 21 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Al Hamra. In Al Hamra, follow the signs towards Jebel Shams, which will lead you onto a smaller road. The final stretch to Jebel Shams is about 20 kilometers on a winding mountain road. Ensure your vehicle has good brakes and is suitable for mountainous terrain. Parking is available at the top. Note that there may be a small fee for accessing certain areas.
