Walking
If you are in the Mutrah area, you can easily walk to Mutrah Souq. Start at Mutrah Corniche, which is a scenic waterfront promenade. From any point along the Corniche, head towards the central area of the souq. Look for the distinctive archway that serves as the entrance to the souq; it is located just off the Corniche. The souq is located approximately 500 meters from the Corniche, and you can follow the crowd of tourists and locals heading in the same direction.
Public Bus
If you are further away from the Corniche, you can take a public bus to reach Mutrah Souq. Look for the local bus service (Mwasalat) that operates in the Muscat area. Board the bus heading towards Mutrah and ask the driver to drop you off at 'Mutrah Souq' or 'Mutrah Corniche'. The fare is typically around 0.5 Omani Rial. Once you get off the bus, proceed towards the Corniche and follow the walking instructions mentioned above.
Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service
For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-hailing app like Careem or Uber. Simply input 'Mutrah Souq' or 'Mutrah Corniche' as your destination. The cost will depend on your starting location, but it usually ranges from 2 to 5 Omani Rials. Once you arrive, you will easily see the entrance to the souq nearby.
Use Mutrah Souq as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
