Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Portland, Oregon. Take I-84 E toward The Dalles. After about 10 miles, take exit 17 for I-205 S. Merge onto I-205 S and continue for approximately 12 miles. Exit onto I-5 S and follow signs for I-5 S toward Salem. After about 15 miles, take exit 11 for WA-14 E toward Washougal. Continue on WA-14 E for about 23 miles, where you will find signs for Cape Horn Falls. Turn left onto Evergreen Hwy, and you will arrive at the falls after a short drive.
Public Transportation
For travelers using public transportation, begin at the Portland Union Station. Take the Amtrak Cascades train towards Seattle and disembark at the Vancouver, WA station. From there, transfer to TriMet bus #30 which goes toward Washougal. Get off at the stop closest to Evergreen Hwy. You may need to walk for about 15-20 minutes to reach Cape Horn Falls, following Evergreen Hwy. Please check the TriMet website for the most current schedules and fare information.
Hiking
If you are already in the Cascade Mountains and prefer hiking, head towards the Cape Horn Trailhead located along the Columbia River Gorge. You can park your car at the trailhead and embark on a hike that leads directly to Cape Horn Falls. The trail is relatively brisk and provides scenic views along the way. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water. Always check trail conditions before heading out.
