Car
If you are driving from Hood River, take the I-84 E freeway. After about 15 miles, take exit 44 toward Cascade Locks. Continue on Cascade Locks Road, which will merge into SW Portage Rd. Follow this road for about 1 mile, and you will find the Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge at 299 SW Portage Rd.
Car
From Portland, get on I-84 E from SW 6th Ave. Continue on I-84 E for approximately 40 miles. Take exit 44 for Cascade Locks. Merge onto Cascade Locks Road, which leads to SW Portage Rd. Drive for about 1 mile, and you will arrive at the Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge at 299 SW Portage Rd.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transport, take the Columbia Gorge Express from Portland. The bus will take you along the scenic route toward Hood River. Get off at the Cascade Locks stop. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge located at 299 SW Portage Rd. Head southeast on Cascade Locks Road, then turn right onto SW Portage Rd.
Car
Traveling from The Dalles? Take US-197 S and merge onto I-84 W. After about 30 miles, take exit 44 for Cascade Locks. Continue straight onto Cascade Locks Road and follow it until it merges with SW Portage Rd. The Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge will be on your left at 299 SW Portage Rd.
