If you are driving to Kam Wah Chung State Heritage Site, start on US-395 S from any location in Harney Basin. Follow US-395 S for approximately 60 miles. As you approach John Day, keep an eye out for the signs for Kam Wah Chung State Heritage Site. Turn left onto Main St. and then right onto the entrance road. The site will be on your left at 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so plan accordingly. There is no entrance fee for the site.
