Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start from the main city in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, such as Muzaffarabad. Head southeast on the Neelum Valley Road (N-53) towards Kotli. The drive to Kotli will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Once you reach Kotli, follow the local signs towards Saarda Point, which is about 20 km from the city center. The road to Saarda Point is scenic but can be narrow in places, so drive cautiously.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Saarda Point using public transportation, first take a bus or van from Muzaffarabad to Kotli. Buses leave frequently from the central bus station and the journey typically takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. Once you arrive in Kotli, you can hire a local taxi or use a rickshaw to reach Saarda Point. The taxi ride will take around 30 to 45 minutes and may cost between PKR 500 to PKR 1000 depending on your negotiation skills and the taxi's condition.

• Walking

  If you're adventurous and in good shape, you can hike from Kotli to Saarda Point. The walk is approximately 20 km and will take around 5 to 6 hours, depending on your pace. Start early in the morning to avoid the heat, and make sure to carry enough water and snacks. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, but it's advisable to have a local guide or at least a map, as some paths may not be clearly marked.
