Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car from Deosai National Park to Sarfaranga Cold Desert, start from the Deosai National Park entrance. Drive towards Skardu on the main road. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the Skardu city area. From Skardu, continue for about 20 kilometers towards the Sarfaranga area. The Sarfaranga Cold Desert will be on your left. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the signs indicating Sarfaranga. Parking is available nearby.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transport, you can take a shared jeep from Deosai National Park to Skardu. The jeep ride will take around 1-1.5 hours depending on the road conditions. Once in Skardu, hire a local taxi or another shared jeep to Sarfaranga Cold Desert. This leg of the journey should take about 30 minutes. Be prepared for some costs: expect to pay around PKR 500-800 for the jeep ride to Skardu and approximately PKR 1000-1500 for the taxi or shared jeep to Sarfaranga.
