Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Drive towards the Khardung La Pass, which is about 39 km from Leh. After crossing the pass, continue driving towards Nubra Valley. Follow the signs and roads that lead you towards Diskit, which is approximately 120 km from Leh. From Diskit, take the road leading to Bilamik Valley. The valley is around 30 km from Diskit. Be prepared for some rough terrain and ensure your vehicle is in good condition for mountain driving.

Public Transportation

For public transportation, take a shared taxi or a bus from Leh to Diskit. The journey will take around 4-5 hours. Once in Diskit, you can hire a local taxi to take you to Bilamik Valley. Make sure to negotiate the fare upfront, as taxis may not have a standard rate. The distance from Diskit to Bilamik Valley is about 30 km, and the taxi ride will take approximately 1 hour.

Motorbike

If you prefer an adventurous route, renting a motorbike is a great option. Rent a bike in Leh and head towards Khardung La Pass. After crossing the pass, ride towards Nubra Valley and follow the same route as cars to Diskit. From Diskit, take the road to Bilamik Valley. Ensure you have the necessary gear and experience for mountain riding, as the roads can be challenging.

Hiking

For the adventurous, hiking to Bilamik Valley is an option. Start from Diskit and follow the trails that lead to Bilamik. This route is best for experienced hikers and may take several hours depending on your pace. Make sure to carry enough water, food, and a map of the area, as well as informing someone about your hiking plan.
