Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Take the NH1D highway towards Kargil. After approximately 140 km, you will reach the town of Kargil. From Kargil, continue on the NH1D for about 60 km until you reach Dras. The Mushkoh Valley is located a few kilometers from Dras, so you can either drive or hire a local taxi to take you to the valley. Make sure to follow the local signs as you approach Dras. The entire journey from Leh to Mushkoh Valley typically takes around 5-6 hours, depending on road conditions.
Public Transportation
For those opting for public transport, take a bus from Leh to Kargil. Buses depart regularly from Leh's main bus station and the journey takes about 4-5 hours. Once you reach Kargil, you will need to transfer to a local bus or shared taxi heading to Dras. Local buses may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance. The bus ride from Kargil to Dras takes about 1 hour. From Dras, you can hire a taxi to take you the remaining distance to Mushkoh Valley, which is around 10 km away.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, hiring a taxi from Leh to Mushkoh Valley is a good option. You can book a taxi in advance or find one at the taxi stand in Leh. The driver will take you directly to the valley, stopping at scenic points along the way if requested. This option is more comfortable and allows for flexibility in your travel schedule.
