Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Skardu, which is the nearest major town to Sheosar Lake. Head southeast on the Skardu-Askole Road (N-158) for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction that leads to the Deosai National Park. Continue on the Deosai Park Road for about 50 km, enjoying the stunning scenery along the way. Follow the signs that direct you towards Sheosar Lake. The last part of the road may be bumpy, so drive carefully. Once you arrive, there is no entrance fee required for the lake area.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus or shared jeep from Skardu to the Deosai National Park entrance. Buses usually leave from the main bus station in Skardu and the fare is around PKR 500-700 per person. Once you reach the park entrance, you can hire a local jeep to take you to Sheosar Lake. The jeep ride costs approximately PKR 2000-3000 per group and will take about 1-2 hours depending on road conditions. Be sure to negotiate the price beforehand and confirm the return arrangements with the driver.
Trekking
For the adventurous, consider trekking to Sheosar Lake from the nearest campsite or lodge in Deosai National Park. This route is ideal for experienced trekkers and offers breathtaking views.
