Car
If you are traveling by car from Leh, head southeast on the Leh-Kargil Road (NH 1D). After approximately 60 km, take a left towards Kargil and continue for another 30 km until you reach the town of Kargil. From Kargil, take the road towards Lal Pora, which is about 40 km away. Follow the signs to Srunz Waterfall. The waterfall is approximately 5 km from Lal Pora. Ensure you have a reliable GPS or map, as some areas may not be well-marked.
Public Transportation
To reach Srunz Waterfall using public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi from Leh to Kargil. The journey takes about 5-6 hours and costs around INR 400-600. Once you arrive in Kargil, you can hire a local taxi to take you to Lal Pora, which will cost approximately INR 1000-1500. After reaching Lal Pora, you can either walk or hire a local guide to lead you the remaining 5 km to the waterfall.
Walking
If you prefer walking, once you reach Lal Pora, you can trek to Srunz Waterfall. The trail is approximately 5 km and takes about 1.5-2 hours, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and carry water. The trail may not be well-marked, so it's advisable to ask locals for directions.
