If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Take the Leh-Kargil road (NH 1D) and head towards Kargil. After approximately 70 kilometers, you will reach the town of Kargil. From Kargil, continue on the same highway for about 100 kilometers until you reach the town of Skardu. Tatta Pani is located about 25 kilometers from Skardu along the N-35 road. Keep an eye out for road signs, and once you see the signs for Tatta Pani, follow them until you arrive at the thermal springs. Make sure to have enough fuel and supplies, as the road can be remote and facilities are limited.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To travel by public transportation, you can catch a bus from Leh to Skardu. Buses depart regularly from the Leh bus station and the journey takes around 12-15 hours, depending on road conditions. Once you arrive in Skardu, you can find local transport options like shared taxis or rickshaws to take you to Tatta Pani. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes. This is a more expensive option, costing around PKR 5000 to PKR 7000 for a one-way trip, but it allows you to travel at your own pace. The journey will take approximately 6-8 hours, depending on road conditions. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand and ensure that the driver is familiar with the route to Tatta Pani.
