Car
From Gamboa, head out onto the main road, Route 4, towards the city of Colon. Follow the signs for Colón and continue on this road for approximately 35 kilometers. You will pass through the town of Cocoli and then continue straight until you reach the entrance to Portobelo. Once in Portobelo, look for signs directing you to the Ruinas de Portobelo, Fuerte Santiago. The ruins are located just off the main street, and there is parking available nearby.

Public Transportation
From Gamboa, you can take a bus to Colón. Head to the nearest bus stop and catch a bus heading to Colón. The journey takes about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once in Colón, transfer to another bus that goes to Portobelo. The signs at the bus terminal will indicate buses heading to Portobelo. After arriving in Portobelo, ask the bus driver to drop you off near the Ruinas de Portobelo, Fuerte Santiago, or follow the main road to find it within a 10-minute walk.
