Walking
From the center of Kokopo, start at the Kokopo Market. Head south on the main road, which is also known as Rabaul-Kokopo Road. Continue walking down the road for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Bitapaka Road. At this intersection, you will see signs pointing towards the Bitapaka War Cemetery. Turn left onto Bitapaka Road and continue straight for about 2 kilometers. The cemetery will be on your right side. Look for the entrance gate marked with a sign indicating 'Bitapaka War Cemetery'.

From Kokopo Market, take a local bus heading towards Rabaul. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Bitapaka junction. The bus ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Once you reach the junction, walk along Bitapaka Road for approximately 2 kilometers. The Bitapaka War Cemetery will be on your right side. You will recognize it by the entrance gate with a sign indicating 'Bitapaka War Cemetery'.
