From the heart of Downtown Erie, start at the Erie County Courthouse located at 140 W 6th St. Head east on W 6th St toward Peach St. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with State St. Turn left onto State St and walk north until you reach W 2nd St. Turn right onto W 2nd St and continue walking until you hit the waterfront at E Front St. Turn left onto E Front St and walk along the waterfront. You will see Fort De La Presqu' Ile at 300-398 E Front St, just ahead on your left.

From Downtown Erie, you can catch the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA) bus at any of the bus stops along State St. Take Bus Route 1 - East 12th St. to East Ave. Transfer to Route 2 - East Ave. and ride until you reach the closest stop to E Front St. You may need to walk a few blocks to reach Fort De La Presqu' Ile at 300-398 E Front St. Be sure to check the EMTA schedule for exact times and fares, which typically cost around $1.50 per ride.
