Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the city of Huaraz, which is the main city in Ancash. From Huaraz, take the PE-3N highway heading southeast towards Carhuaz. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes and you will enjoy beautiful mountain views along the way. Once you reach the town of Carhuaz, continue on the same road until you reach the entrance to Huascarán National Park. The entrance fee is approximately 30 soles per person. After entering, follow the signs to the Huascarán peak, which is well-marked but may require some time to navigate through the park roads. Make sure to have a map or GPS for the best routes.
Public Transport
For those who prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Huaraz to Carhuaz. Buses to Carhuaz leave frequently from the Huaraz bus terminal. The ticket costs around 10 soles and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in Carhuaz, you can either take a taxi or another minibus that goes to the entrance of Huascarán National Park. The taxi may cost around 20-30 soles, while the minibus fare is approximately 5 soles. After reaching the park entrance, you will need to pay the entrance fee of around 30 soles. From there, follow the signs to Huascarán peak.
