Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Cusco. Take the road towards the town of Tinki, which is approximately a 3-hour drive. Follow the signs for Tinki and enjoy the scenic drive through the Andes. Once you reach Tinki, continue straight for about 10 km until you reach the entrance of the Ausangate Trek, located near Pajchanta (7PPV+GM6). Make sure to have a GPS or a map handy, as the roads can be winding.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Cusco and look for a bus heading to Tinki. The bus ride takes about 3 to 4 hours and costs around 15-20 soles. Once you arrive in Tinki, you can either hire a taxi or take a local collectivo (shared taxi) to get to the Ausangate Trek starting point near Pajchanta. The taxi ride should cost approximately 30-50 soles.
