Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, which is Cusco. Drive towards the town of San Pedro de Cachora, which is approximately 4 hours away. From San Pedro de Cachora, take the road that leads to the trailhead at Capuliyoc. The road is mostly unpaved and can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. After parking at Capuliyoc, you will need to hike down to the valley and then up to Abra Choquequirao, which is a challenging trek lasting about 3 to 4 days.
Public Transportation

To reach Abra Choquequirao using public transportation, take a bus from Cusco to San Pedro de Cachora. The bus ride takes approximately 5 hours. Once you arrive in San Pedro de Cachora, you can either hire a local guide or take a taxi to the Capuliyoc trailhead. From Capuliyoc, you will embark on a multi-day trek to reach Abra Choquequirao, which involves steep ascents and descents.
