If you are driving, start from Chivay, the main town near the Colca Canyon. Follow the road towards the town of Fure. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at Fure. From the center of Fure, look for signs or ask locals for directions to Catarata de Huaruro. The waterfall is located at coordinates -15.5522932, -71.9887143, and you may need to park your car nearby and walk about 15-20 minutes to reach the waterfall.
Public Transportation
To reach Catarata de Huaruro via public transportation, take a local bus from Chivay to Fure. Buses depart regularly from the main bus terminal in Chivay. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Fure, ask locals for directions to Catarata de Huaruro, as it may not be well-marked. You will likely need to walk for about 15-20 minutes from the bus drop-off point to reach the waterfall.
Walking
If you are already in Fure, you can walk to Catarata de Huaruro. Start from the main square of Fure and head towards the surrounding hills. Follow any indicated paths or ask locals for guidance. The walk will take approximately 20-30 minutes, and the journey offers beautiful views of the landscape, so take your time to enjoy it.
