Car
From Huaraz, take the main road towards Pira and continue driving for approximately 20 kilometers. Look for signs indicating 'Laguna Churup' as you approach the town of Pira. Once you reach Pira, you will need to take a left turn onto a dirt road that leads to the Laguna Churup Trailhead. The road may be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Continue driving for another 5 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the trailhead. Be aware that parking may require a small fee, usually around 5-10 soles.

Public Transportation (Minibus)
From Huaraz, head to the main bus terminal and look for minibuses heading to Pira (these are often labeled with 'Pira' on the front). The fare is typically around 5 soles per person. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Pira, you may need to hire a taxi or local truck to take you to the Laguna Churup Trailhead. This ride should cost around 10-15 soles and will take approximately 15 minutes.

If you arrive at the Laguna Churup Trailhead, you will find a marked trail leading to the lagoon. The hike is moderately challenging and takes about 2-3 hours to reach the lagoon, depending on your pace. Be sure to carry enough water and snacks, as there are no vendors along the trail. It's also advisable to start early in the day to avoid afternoon rains.
