If you are driving, start from Cusco and take the AV. El Sol street heading northwest. Continue to follow signs for Av. de la Cultura and then take the exit onto the PE-28A highway. Drive for approximately 1.5 hours (around 80 km) until you reach the town of Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo, follow the signs to the Inca Trail checkpoint. You may need to pay a parking fee in Ollantaytambo, which ranges from 5 to 15 soles.

From Cusco, take a bus from the Terminal Terrestre (bus terminal) to Ollantaytambo. Buses leave frequently and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. The cost is generally around 10 to 15 soles.
