Travel Guide to Fundo Chincheros

Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Puno city center, head to the main bus terminal located on Avenida Simón Bolívar. Look for buses heading towards 'Chucuito' or 'Juliaca.' Ensure to tell the driver or conductor that you want to get off at 'Fundo Chincheros.' The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you get off, follow the signs or ask locals for directions towards Fundo Chincheros, which is usually a short walk from the main road.

• Collectivo (Shared Taxi)

  Make your way to Calle Lima where you can find collectivos heading towards Chucuito. These are shared taxis that leave when they are full. Inform the driver that you want to go to 'Fundo Chincheros.' The ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive, you may have to walk a bit; ask locals for directions if needed.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and want to walk, you can take a scenic route from Puno to Fundo Chincheros. Start by heading towards the shores of Lake Titicaca and follow the path along the lake. This is a longer option, around 1.5 to 2 hours, but you'll enjoy beautiful views. Make sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes.

• Bicycle Rental

  Consider renting a bicycle from one of the local shops in Puno. Head towards the outskirts of the city and follow the road to Chucuito. It's about a 10km ride and can take roughly 1 hour. Once you reach Chucuito, ask locals for directions to Fundo Chincheros, which is nearby.
