    To reach Humantay Lake by car from any location in the Sacred Valley, first set your GPS to the coordinates of Humantay Lake: Latitude -13.3799712, Longitude -72.5844742. Drive towards the town of Mollepata, which is about 30 kilometers from the Sacred Valley. You will take the road from Urubamba to Limatambo and then follow the signs towards Mollepata. Once in Mollepata, continue on the road towards Soraypampa, which is the starting point for the trek to Humantay Lake. There is a parking area available where you can leave your vehicle. Note that there may be a fee for parking, usually around 10-20 soles.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, start by taking a bus or colectivo (shared taxi) from Urubamba or Ollantaytambo to Mollepata. The fare is typically around 10-15 soles. Once you arrive in Mollepata, you can either hire a taxi to take you directly to Soraypampa or join a local tour that includes transportation. The taxi will cost approximately 50-70 soles for the trip. At Soraypampa, you will find the trailhead for the trek to Humantay Lake, which is about a 1.5 to 2-hour hike uphill.
