From the main square in Trujillo (Plaza de Armas), walk to the nearest bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre de Trujillo). Look for buses heading to Huanchaco. The fare is usually around 1-2 soles. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Huanchaco, get off at the Malecon Grau stop. From there, walk towards the beach; Playa Varadero is located directly along the Malecon.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Trujillo. Simply tell the driver 'Playa Varadero en Huanchaco.' The fare should be around 15-25 soles depending on your starting point, and the trip will take approximately 15-20 minutes. The driver will take you directly to the Malecon Grau, where you can find the beach.
Walking
If you are staying nearby in Huanchaco, you can walk to Playa Varadero. Head towards the beach from the center of Huanchaco, and follow the signs to Malecon Grau. The beach is well-marked and you will enjoy a pleasant walk along the coastline.
