Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Lagoa de Albufeira from within Arrábida Natural Park, head towards the town of Sesimbra. From the center of Sesimbra, take the N378 road heading south. After approximately 6 kilometers, you will see signs for Lagoa de Albufeira. Turn left onto the access road and follow it for about 2 kilometers until you reach the lagoon. Parking is available near the lagoon, but be mindful of any parking fees, which can vary depending on the season.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Lagoa de Albufeira using public transport, take a bus from Lisbon to Sesimbra. The bus departs from Praça de Espanha Station in Lisbon and takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Sesimbra, you can take the local bus (Bus 203) that goes directly to Lagoa de Albufeira. This bus runs approximately every hour. Make sure to check the schedule ahead of time, as public transport may have limited services on weekends and holidays.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy hiking, you can walk to Lagoa de Albufeira from nearby hiking trails in Arrábida Natural Park. If you are starting from the Parque Natural da Arrábida Visitor Center, follow the marked trails leading towards the lagoon. The hike is about 5 kilometers and offers beautiful views of the park, but be prepared for some steep sections. Ensure you wear proper hiking shoes and carry enough water.
