From Caldas da Rainha, head to the main bus station located at Av. 1º de Maio. Look for the bus that goes to Alcobaça, which is typically marked with its destination. Purchase a ticket from the kiosk or directly from the driver. The journey to Alcobaça takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Alcobaça bus station, exit the station and head east on Rua de São Martinho. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout, then take the first exit onto Rua do Castelo. Follow this road until you see the signs for Castelo de Alcobaça, which is located at R. do Castelo 35.

Train and Bus
Begin your journey at the Caldas da Rainha train station located on Av. da Liberdade. Take a train towards Lisbon and disembark at the Alfeizerão station. From there, you can catch a local bus or taxi to Alcobaça, which is about 8 km away. The bus will take you to the center of Alcobaça. Once in Alcobaça, follow the directions to R. do Castelo, where the castle is located. Alternatively, you can walk from the bus stop to the castle, which is a pleasant 15-20 minute stroll.

If you prefer to walk, start at the center of Caldas da Rainha and head towards the main road, Avenida das Caldas. Walk north until you reach the intersection with N8. Continue straight along N8 heading towards Alcobaça. This route is about 15 km and will take around 3-4 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated. Follow the signs for Alcobaça, and once you arrive, head to R. do Castelo 35 for Castelo de Alcobaça.
