If you're driving from central Ericeira, start by heading southeast on Avenida do Mar towards Rua Dr. Eduardo Burnay. Continue straight onto the N247 road. Follow the N247 for about 15 km until you reach the A21 highway. Merge onto the A21 towards Lisbon. After approximately 25 km, take the exit towards A2/Lisboa and continue on the A2 for about 10 km. Take the exit towards Av. 24 de Julho. Merge onto Av. 24 de Julho and continue until you reach the intersection with Cais do Sodré. Turn right onto Cais do Sodré and then left onto Rua Cais de Alfândega Velha. The Lisbon Earthquake 1755 museum will be on your right at number 39.

To get to the Lisbon Earthquake 1755 museum from Ericeira using public transport, first take the bus from Ericeira to Lisbon, which departs from the main bus station in Ericeira (Terminal Rodoviário). Look for buses operated by Mafrense that go to Lisbon. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Lisbon bus terminal (Sete Rios), transfer to the Metro. Take the Blue Line (Linha Azul) from Jardim Zoológico station towards Santa Apolónia. Travel 4 stops and get off at Cais do Sodré station. From Cais do Sodré, exit the metro and walk towards Rua Cais de Alfândega Velha. The museum is located at number 39, just a short walk away.
