Continue walking straight until you reach the roundabout at Avenida da República. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenida da República. Keep walking until you reach the train station, Estação Ferroviária de Faro. Here, you will need to take a train towards Tavira, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. Once you arrive at Tavira train station, exit the station and head towards the main road, Rua Dr. José F. F. de Almeida. Walk straight until you reach the bridge over the river, Ponte Romana. Cross the bridge and continue straight until you find the signs directing you towards Forte do Rato / Forte de Santo António de Tavira. The fort is a short walk from the bridge, located near the waterfront.
