Walking
If you are starting from Faro's city center, head east towards Rua de Santo António. Walk straight until you reach Praça da República, a central square. From there, continue on Rua 1º de Maio, which will lead you toward the train station (Estação Ferroviária de Faro). Once at the train station, take a train towards Tavira. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Tavira train station, exit and walk towards the town center. Follow Av. da Liberdade until you reach the riverfront. Continue along the river until you see the Ponte Gilão (Gilão Bridge), which is well-marked and a prominent landmark in Tavira.

Public Transport (Bus)
From Faro city center, locate the bus station called Terminal Rodoviário de Faro, which is near the train station. Purchase a ticket for Tavira, which is serviced by several bus companies. The bus ride takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Tavira's bus station, walk straight down Rua da Liberdade, then take a right onto Av. da Liberdade. Follow this street until you reach the riverfront, where you will find the Ponte Gilão (Gilão Bridge) spanning the Rio Gilão.
