Getting There

Walking
From the center of Guimarães, head towards Praça da Oliveira. Once you reach the square, look for the statue of Afonso Henriques. From there, take Rua de São Francisco heading north. Continue straight until you reach the end of the street, then turn left onto Rua de Santo António. Follow this road for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenida de São Gonçalo. At the intersection, turn right, and you will soon see the signs pointing towards Porto. Continue walking for another 10 minutes until you reach the bus station. From the bus station, you can catch a bus to Porto. Once you arrive in Porto, head towards Praça dos Poveiros which is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

Start at the Guimarães train station. Purchase a ticket to Porto, and take the train heading to Porto São Bento station. The train ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at São Bento station, exit the station and head towards Rua de 31 de Janeiro. Walk straight for about 400 meters until you reach the intersection with Rua do Almada. Turn right onto Rua do Almada, and continue walking until you reach Praça dos Poveiros, which will be on your right side.
