Getting There

• Metro

  To get to Praça de Almeida Garrett in Porto from Braga, first head to Braga Metro Station located in the city center. Board the Metro Line A heading towards Estádio do Dragão. Change at the São Bento station. Once you arrive at São Bento, exit the station and walk towards the Praça da Liberdade. From there, head south towards Avenida dos Aliados, and continue straight until you reach the Praça de Almeida Garrett.

• Bus

  Start at the Braga Bus Station (Terminal Rodoviário de Braga). Take the bus heading to Porto (several companies operate this route, including Rede Expressos). The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Porto Bus Station (Campo 24 de Agosto), exit the station and walk towards the Metro station nearby. Take Metro Line A towards Estádio do Dragão and get off at São Bento station. From there, walk south to Praça da Liberdade, then head towards Avenida dos Aliados to reach Praça de Almeida Garrett.

• Train

  Make your way to Braga Train Station. Purchase a ticket to Porto São Bento station. The train ride takes about 40 minutes. Upon arrival at Porto São Bento, exit the station and walk towards Praça da Liberdade. Continue south until you reach Avenida dos Aliados, and follow the street until you arrive at Praça de Almeida Garrett.

• Walking (from central Porto)

  If you are already in central Porto, start at the iconic São Bento station. Exit the station and head towards Praça da Liberdade. From there, continue to Avenida dos Aliados, and then head straight until you reach Praça de Almeida Garrett. It's a short and pleasant walk, approximately 15 minutes.
