From the center of Lisbon, head to the Rossio Train Station (Estação do Rossio). You can take the Metro (Green Line) to Rossio station. Once you arrive, purchase a ticket to Sintra at the ticket counter or machines. Trains to Sintra run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Sintra Station, exit the train and follow the signs to the bus stop.

At the Sintra Station bus stop, board the bus number 434, which is specifically for the route to the National Palace of Pena. The bus ride will take around 15 minutes. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to the palace. From there, it is a short walk up to the entrance of the National Palace of Pena.

If you prefer to walk, from Sintra Station, take the Avenida Dr. Miguel Bombarda and head uphill towards the palace. It’s about a 30 to 40-minute walk, approximately 2.5 kilometers. Follow the signs for the National Palace of Pena, and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you make your way to the palace entrance.
