Metro
To get to Praia de Matosinhos from central Porto, head to the nearest metro station, which is 'São Bento'. Take the Metro Line A (Blue Line) towards 'Senhor de Matosinhos'. After about 20 minutes, get off at the 'Matosinhos' station. From the station, exit and walk straight for about 10 minutes along Avenida da Boavista until you reach Praia de Matosinhos.
Bus
If you prefer to take a bus, go to the 'Campo 24 de Agosto' bus station in Porto. Look for bus lines 500 or 501 that go towards Matosinhos. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive, get off at the stop 'Praia de Matosinhos'. From there, it's just a short walk to the beach.

If you are staying in the downtown area of Porto, you can enjoy a scenic walk to Praia de Matosinhos. Start at the Ribeira area by the Douro River and walk towards the 'Ponte da Arrábida' bridge.
