Getting There

Walking
Starting from the Sintra train station, exit the station and turn right onto Avenida Dr. Miguel Bombarda. Walk straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Rua Visconde de Juromenha. Continue walking straight until you reach the main entrance of the Quinta da Regaleira, one of the most famous landmarks in Sintra. From there, continue on the same road, Rua da Regaleira, until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left path, which will lead you onto Estrada da Pena. Follow this road for approximately 15-20 minutes. You will see the Chalet of the Countess of Edla on your left side as you approach.

Bus
From the Sintra train station, walk to the bus terminal located next to the station. Look for the bus line that goes to 'Palácio da Pena' (Bus 434 is a good option). Board the bus and pay the fare (you can buy a ticket on the bus). The bus will take you up to the Pena Palace area. Once you get off at the 'Palácio da Pena' stop, walk down the path called Estrada da Pena. After a short walk of about 10-15 minutes, you will reach the Chalet of the Countess of Edla, which is located on your left side.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from any of the rental shops in Sintra. Start from the Sintra center and head towards the Parque da Liberdade. From there, follow the signs to the Pena Palace, which will lead you onto Estrada da Pena. It is a scenic route with some uphill cycling, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. After about 20-30 minutes of cycling, you will find the Chalet of the Countess of Edla on your left side, just before reaching the main entrance to the Pena Palace.
