From the city center of Viana do Castelo, head east on Avenida dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra. Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rua da Liberdade. Continue walking straight for another 600 meters until you reach the intersection with Rua de São Francisco. Turn left onto Rua de São Francisco and follow it for approximately 1 kilometer. The Convento de São Francisco do Monte will be on your right, set atop the hill with stunning views of the surrounding area.

Begin your journey at the Viana do Castelo bus station. Take the local bus service that heads towards the area near the Convento de São Francisco do Monte. You can ask the bus driver to let you know when to get off, as they are familiar with the tourists' destinations.
