If you are traveling by car, start from the main entrance of El Yunque National Forest, which is located on Route 191. From there, follow the signs towards PR-186. Continue on PR-186 for approximately 5 miles until you reach the El Toro Trailhead, which is located on the left side of the road. There is parking available at the trailhead, but it's recommended to arrive early as spots can fill up quickly. Note that there might be a small parking fee depending on the area.

If you are using public transportation, you can take the bus route from San Juan to Canóvanas. The bus departs from the main terminal in San Juan. After arriving in Canóvanas, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the El Toro Trailhead. Make sure to inform the driver of your destination by providing the address: PR-186, Canóvanas 00729. The taxi fare from Canóvanas to the trailhead may vary, so it's advisable to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
